About the Project

The GIWW West Closure Complex is one of the world’s largest of its kind, featuring a pumping station capable of pumping storm water at a rate of 20,000 cubic feet per second, two navigable gates, one spanning 110 feet and a second spanning 225 feet, as well as construction and relocation of a levee and flood wall. Together, the 11 pumps will move close to 9 million gallons of water per minute. KGC Environmental provided PM-10 monitoring during abrasive blasting.
