About the Project
The Interstate 20 bridge in Vicksburg, Mississippi is a major artery of transportation in the Southeast. The scope of services completed for the project was abrasive blasting and painting of the main span and both approaches. KGC Environmental oversaw all environmental activities including air quality, waste, and waste water. KGC also reviewed the contractor’s OSHA lead compliance plan.
The Vicksburg Bridge is a cantilever bridge carrying Interstate 20 and U.S. Route 80 across the Mississippi River between Delta, Louisiana and Vicksburg, Mississippi.
The project scope included the containment, abrasive blasting and painting of the bridge.
KGC Performed:
- TSP-lead high volume ambient air monitoring
- Hazardous waste and waste water oversight.
- Reviewed contractor environmental, health and safety submittals for conformance with the project specification.
